Marius trained in dance at the Royal Ballet School in Richmond Park. He completed five years of classical ballet training but was unfortunately side-lined due to injury in his final year. After graduating from Durham University earning a degree in Geography, Environment and Development, Marius returned to The Royal Ballet School as their Theatre and Events Manager. He was in charge of all performances and international tours over a seven-year period; located at in- house venues as well as Stage Managing performances at the Royal Opera House and venues such as Buckingham Palace.
Through events hosted at the School, including BBC Question Time, BBC Antiques Roadshow and private-hire launch events for Jaguar Land Rover, Marius joined the global events and production company, Imagination, in 2013. In the role of Senior Production Manager, he orchestrated events across the globe including the Land Rover Extreme Sailing Series acts in China and Russia, vehicle launches in New York and corporate events across Europe.
With a desire to return to theatre and live performance, Marius now freelances as a Production and Company Stage Manager, managing performances for Sadler’s Wells, a variety of International Contemporary Dance Companies, as well as Floor Managing live television productions for the British Broadcasting Corporation.
Past Sadler’s Wells projects include Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Sutra and Milonga, Damien Jalet’s Gravity Fatigue and Tarantiseismic, Cuban dance shows Havana Rakatan and Vamos Cuba, William Forsythe’s A Quiet Evening of Dance, Akram Khan’s annual Darbar Festival, Sadler’s Wells annual Sampled performances, as well as numerous national and international tours with Breakin’ Convention.
He works closely with internationally renowned tango star German Cornejo, working as Production Director and Lighting Designer for his international touring shows Break the Tango, Immortal Tango, Tango After Dark and Wild Tango.
Marius continues to work closely with the BBC on dance projects for television including the bi-annual Young Dancer of the Year Competition, and film adaptations of stage-productions.
Recently, Marius has Production Managed new performances and tours for the Los Angeles Company Yorke Dance Project, Spanish-based contemporary dance company Humanhood, Wayne McGregor and Paris Opera Ballet’s Tree of Codes, as well as the breath-taking South African and ex- Rambert dancer Dane Hurst. He has also just completed an incredible tour with BBC Strictly Come Dancing dancers for the Burn the Floor 25th Reunion Tour around the United Kingdom.
Continuing his commitment to Sadler’s Wells Production and Touring, Marius Company Stage Managed 2020's exciting new production by Sadler’s Wells, Universal Music and Zoonation: Message in a Bottle, as well William Forsythe's A Quiet Evening of Dance, and 2022's incredible collaboration with the Pina Bausch Foundation, Rite of Spring (Sacre).
Marius was Company Stage Manager on a new work by Zoonation founder Kate Prince. Performances of Sylvia at the Old Vic Theatre in London ran from January to April 2023, with the Production being nominated for three Olivier Awards, and winning Best Supporting Actress for Beverley Knight in her role as Emmeline Pankhurst.
Marius will be on a World Tour with 2020s Message in a Bottle for the remainder of 2023, culminating in a 5-month North American tour in early 2024.
